To swim, to breathe, to save

They swim together in the calm peaceful waters.  They pull each other through the currents.  They hold onto each other during the storms.  They hold hands as they float side by side.  Sometimes he pulls her and sometimes she pulls him.  Then one day he stops, he declares he’s finished. And seems shocked and hurt that she refuses to drown with him.
